PrEP announcement, listen to Sahir House CEO’s interview on BBC Radio Merseyside

NHS England has announced that from next month it will begin a £10m trial to provide a daily pill which helps protect against HIV infection. It’s expected that the course of medicine, known as PrEP, will be given to an estimated 10,000 people during an initial three-year trial.

Sexual health clinics in London, Brighton, Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield will be among the first to offer it to patients — with full implementation across England by April next year.

Tommy McIlravey, CEO of Sahir House in Liverpool was interviewed the day this news was made public (3.8.17) on local radio station BBC Merseyside with Paul Salt on his drive time show.

Interview starts at 16:41:29 and ends 16:46:00
Tommy gave a really great answer to the question:
‘Isn’t this pil just going to encourage more unprotected sex?’
