This year’s Liverpool Pride celebrations centre our community’s roots in resistance, visibility, and solidarity. We’re proud to offer a dedicated Children, Young People & Families Zone – designed to be safe, inclusive, and joyful, where LGBTQ+ young people and families can truly thrive.
✨ Hosted in the stunning Museum of Liverpool on the city’s waterfront, with special events at LUSH Liverpool.
✨ Organised with the support of Sahir House, lifting the baton for Pride this year.
✨ Delivered in partnership with Comics Youth CIC, YPAS GYRO, National Museums Liverpool, and @familym_m (LGBTQ+ family advocates).
Together, we’re building spaces where our community can connect, create, and celebrate what Pride truly means.

✨ Friday 25th July – Pre-Pride Bash at LUSH Liverpool

For young people aged 14–25
Start your Pride weekend with intention, connection, and creativity at our Pre-Pride Bash hosted in the gorgeous LUSH Liverpool store.
This is more than just a meet-up: it’s a safe, affirming space designed to elevate queer youth voices and honour Pride’s activist roots.
- Chant-Writing Workshop – Work with youth workers and peers to write your own Pride chants, slogans and affirmations, ready to raise your voice on the march.
- Placard-Making and Art Stations – Design bold, creative placards that share your truth and amplify the messages you care about.
- Community Meet-Up Space – Chill out, chat, and make new friends in a relaxed, supportive environment with the amazing GYRO and YPAS youth teams on hand for support.
Whether you’re feeling fired up or a bit nervous about Pride, this is the perfect space to connect with other young LGBTQ+ people, get creative, and step into Pride feeling seen and supported.

Join Gyasi Sheppy, beloved CBeebies presenter and brand-new children’s author, for a warm, joyful storytelling session designed for LGBTQ+ families and allies. No booking required.
✨ About Gyasi:
Gyasi has always loved performing! As an adult, he turned this passion into a career, landing his dream job as a CBeebies presenter. He hopes his new book, But Dancing Is For Girls, will inspire the next generation to do the things they love—no matter what.
This special Pride event will be his very first public reading of the book, ahead of its launch in August!

Come soak up the Pride atmosphere with the MerseyPride Queertet, a live instrumental quartet bringing gorgeous, joyful music to the Museum of Liverpool Atrium!
✨ This talented local ensemble will fill the space with fun, family-friendly Pride vibes, playing instrumental covers of queer anthems and pop favourites—including songs like “Pink Pony Club” and more.

This zone is designed for LGBTQ+ children, young people, families, and allies of all ages. We want to make sure everyone feels welcome, included, and safe to celebrate Pride together.
We’re especially focused on creating accessible, affirming spaces for:

✅ LGBTQ+ families and carers
✅ Allies and friends

❓ Where is the Youth & Family Zone happening?
📍 Museum of Liverpool, Pier Head Waterfront – our main Saturday venue, with step-free access and accessible facilities.
📍 LUSH Liverpool, Church Street – hosting the Friday Pre-Pride Bash for young people aged 14–25.
Both venues are centrally located and easy to reach by public transport.
❓ Are the events free?
✅ Yes! All events in the Youth & Family Zone are completely free.
We do recommend booking in advance if you can, so we can plan space and materials – but drop-ins are very welcome on the day!
❓ Do I have to book all the sessions?
No. You can pick and choose the sessions you’re interested in! Each event has its own booking link. Feel free to book one, some, or all – whatever works for you.
❓ Is it okay if I’ve never done art / writing / open mic before?
✅ Absolutely! All workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly, accessible, and supportive.
No experience needed – just bring yourself and your ideas.
❓ Can I just come and watch?
✅ Yes! If you want to attend but don’t want to take part directly, you’re still warmly welcome to hang out, watch, support others, and enjoy the space.
