SATURDAY 25 JULY 2026 | HOUGHTON STREET & CLAYTON SQUARE

Come together with the community from across the city region and beyond. This year’s march is a walking-only parade—no vehicles or floats are permitted, placing the focus firmly on our people, our community, and our collective voice.

⏱️ The Day’s Timetable

  • 10:00 AM – Assembly Starts: Arrive early, soak up the atmosphere, and get into position in the Clayton Square assembly areas.
  • 11:00 AM – Muster & Speeches: Housekeeping and powerful community voices open the event from the St John’s Beacon balcony.
  • 11:30 AM – March Departs: The march forms up and officially begins its route through the city centre.
  • 12:30 PM – Arrival & Dispersal: The parade reaches Lord Street, where a staggered dispersal begins.

🗺️ Getting to the Muster Point

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic and avoid congestion, we strongly advise using these specific routes to reach the Clayton Square assembly area depending on how you travel:

  • From Queen Square Bus Station: Walk directly through St John’s Shopping Centre (SJC) and exit via the Elliot Street doors.
  • From Lime Street Station / Great Charlotte Street Bus Stops: Head down the Elliot Street ramp/steps, or walk through SJC.
  • From Liverpool Central Station: Walk straight through the Clayton Square shopping centre.
  • From Moorfields Station: Head via Stanley Street and Whitechapel, then move up Church Street and Parker Street into Clayton Square.
  • From Liverpool ONE Bus Station: Move up Paradise Street, then turn onto Church Street and Parker Street to reach the square.

Note: Security and stewards will be stationed at the junction of Houghton Street and Williamson Square to help direct you smoothly to these assembly pathways.

🛣️ Choosing Your Route

We are operating two distinct route options to ensure the march is safe, pedestrianised, and fully accessible to everyone:

  • The Main Route (1.7 km): Winds from Clayton Square through Church Street, Williamson Square, and Whitechapel, before entering Liverpool ONE via Peter’s Lane and Wall Street, finishing on Lord Street.
  • The Accessibility & Neurodivergent Route: For anyone who might find the crowds, echo, or noise of the lower level of Liverpool ONE overwhelming, this supervised alternative route bypasses that section entirely. It proceeds straight down School Lane to pause and safely rejoin the main parade at the Paradise Street junction.

🎟️ Registration Requirements

  • Pre-Registration is Required: To safely coordinate a crowd of this scale, all participant groups and individuals must be pre-registered to march. Registration is open until Thursday 24th July.
  • Supporting the Event: While the march is open to all, we encourage individuals to register with an optional £5 donation to directly help fund the infrastructure keeping our event safe and accessible.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Age Restriction:

Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the assembly and the march.

➡️ Where to Go Next (Dispersal)

When the march concludes on Lord Street at 12:30 PM, we ask all groups and individuals to continue moving forward to allow space for those arriving behind you. To help you get to your next stop smoothly, we recommend the following routes:

  • Heading to the Pride Quarter?
    Individuals: We recommend using Dorans Lane, Harrington Street, Rainford Square, or Temple Court.
    Registered Groups: Please head via North John Street through to Victoria Street.
  • Heading to the Liverpool’s Pride Event at The Auditorium Liverpool Experience Campus?
    Individuals: We recommend heading down through South John Street / Liverpool ONE.
    Registered Groups: Please follow Lord Street down toward James Street and Mann Island.

  • Looking for Food & Entertainment?
    The Royal Albert Dock is just a short walk away and an ideal spot to grab a bite, decompress, and enjoy the daytime events they have running. Simply follow the dispersal routes toward the Pier Head or through Liverpool ONE to easily access the waterfront.
