Sahir is committed to advancing knowledge and driving impactful change for the communities we serve. As a leading charity supporting people living with HIV and LGBTQ+ communities, we recognise the vital role of research in shaping effective services, informing policy, and fostering greater inclusivity. To this end, we are actively seeking partnerships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that share our commitment to applied research with real-world impact.
We believe that research should be more than an academic exercise—it should lead to tangible benefits for those who need it most. By working collaboratively with universities and research institutions, we aim to generate insights that improve service delivery, influence social policy, and empower marginalised communities.
Our priority areas for research collaboration include (but are not limited to):
HIV and Sexual Health
Addressing health inequalities, improving access to services, and tackling stigma and discrimination.
LGBTQ+ Wellbeing
Exploring mental health challenges, social inclusion, and the intersection of identity, health, and socioeconomic factors.
Community Resilience and Empowerment
Examining the role of peer support, lived experience leadership, and grassroots activism in fostering positive change.
Health and Social Care Integration
Investigating innovative approaches to service design that improve outcomes for those facing multiple disadvantages.
We welcome interdisciplinary collaborations that bridge research with practice, ensuring findings are translated into action. By partnering with Sahir, HEIs gain access to a trusted community-based organisation with deep-rooted connections and lived experience expertise. Together, we can co-produce research that is ethical, inclusive, and capable of delivering lasting impact.
If you are an academic or researcher interested in working with us, we would love to hear from you.
